|Curly Pie~ my weekly installment of silly semi-autobiographical comics...|
I know I haven't been active here in awhile. I always tell myself I'm going to get back into updating my DeviantArt account after I improve a bit more in my craft, yet I always raise the bar. Other times I tell myself I'll get back to the old DeviantArt habit after I finish this one picture, then I end up moving that promise to another picture. Then there are times I tell myself I'll get back to posting after I finish an ambitious short story comic, and that gets delayed.
Anyways, in short, that's the mentality I've been having as of late. What I really want to do is break that mold. It's sort of left me being more anti-social as of late. It's morphed me into some cave man artist who spends all day locked up in is room drawing. And when I'm not doing that, I'm just at work in front of a computer. Honestly, that can't be good for anyone.
I didn't really mean to get into all of that, but my absence deserves an explanation. So, I'll be trying to tighty-up my DeviantArt account. Post some new stuff, maybe tuck away unwanted old stuff. I'm not entirely sure, I just know I want to make it more organized and presentable. As for my comic, "Curly Pie", It'll probably still stay in hiatus for awhile more. I've been wanting to experiment on a new comic idea for awhile now, so there's that to look forward to.
Oh, and one more thing... If anyone's read this far, I have a friend that needs some help and I just want to do what I can to help.
My buddy Alec, also known as SinDraws in DeviantArt, has joined a Design Contest for a Gaming Brand Company. If he wins he can snag himself a sweet new computer, and unfortunately he's been without a decent computer for 6 months now. The contest is hosted on Facebook and the winner is determined by the amount of 'Likes' the contestant gets. Check out his entry here on DeviantArt. sindraws.deviantart.com/art/Sh…
Pretty Kickass right? Cause it sure is, that's why!
He's really close to winning, only a few short votes away. So if you guys can be so generous enough to help him out and follow the link to vote on Facebook, it'd be greatly appreciated. → www.facebook.com/SharkGamingDK…
I'm not asking you guys to do this without an incentive. I'm offering anyone who takes a screen shot that you voted on facebook, a free sketch drawing . One sketch drawing of any one character you want. It can be an original character, your dog Woofy, or even Batman in a tutu. It's your choice. You can send me the screen shot in anyway you want. You can email it to me at 'firstname.lastname@example.org' or better yet. You can just host the screen shot on any image hosting site you wish (imgur, photobucket, even DeviantArt's Sta.sh) and just provide to me the link here on this Journal's comments below. I'll be doing this until the contest is over, which is around one day. And I'll also be drawing everyone's sketches even if he doesn't win. A promise is a promise after all! And again, the link to vote is here → www.facebook.com/SharkGamingDK…
To vote, just like the submission. You'll need a Facebook account to Like it.
Just want to make a update about the contest. It seems Alec won! Thanks again for those who voted, I'll get to those sketches now.
Oh, and also. Thanks for the Birthday wishes, I know that was like a month ago, but I really do read through all of them, and you guys are the greatest. Thanks again.
